and
fill out the application form
with the "Conditions of consent" agreement.
Step 2
Check that your project is eligible
before proceeding.
Discuss your proposed project
It is suggested that you set down the
work you propose to do and then contact Council’s Environment Planning
and Development Department to discuss the eligibility and other details
of your project.
The Council’s Strategic Planning section
will be able to assist you in making an application.
Contact Strategic Planning on (02) 6499

Background research
It will assist your case if you can
properly demonstrate why the work you propose is appropriate from a
heritage point of view. To do this you may need to do some research,
eg., the Council may have information on the building, or the library,
or you may be able to obtain photographs.
Work to be carried out
You then need to decide in detail what
work you want to carry out. This should be stated clearly in a work
schedule, which contains both the various components of the job and the
likely time this work will take.
Quotes
Next, as with any work, you need to
submit quotes and it is suggested that you source at least two for the
work. Submit these costs with the work schedule you have prepared.
Plans and sketches
Depending on the size of the job, you may
require plans and/or sketches, which further explain your application.
Photographs
Take a photograph of the setting of the
building, each elevation and close-ups of any particular features. Keep
the negatives and a set of photographs for your final report. Please
send a copy of the photographs (preferably in digital format) with your
application form.
Complete the Local Heritage
Assistance fund application form
Fill in the
application form,
keep a copy for your records and staple attachments.
Lodging the application with
Council
Applications are open until 5 September
2007. After this time, applications will not be received until the
next financial year.
Completion of work
After your work has been completed,
Council requires the following information to organise payment.
A letter informing Council the project is
completed together with a request for the funds allocated to be paid.
Photocopies of receipts for materials and
labour used to complete the project.
Photographs (preferably digital) of the
completed work.
Payment will only be authorised after
Council has received the above information and the project has been
completed to an appropriate standard.
