Privacy
Your name and personal details will be treated as
private information by the Bega Valley Shire Library. The
information collected as a part of the my place… project will be
accessible to the public via the
my place…
webpage, hosted by the
Bega Valley Shire Council.
It is up to you what information you give us. We
ask for your real full name and contact details. If you cannot
provide at least your real name, then the Bega Valley Shire Library
will not be able to include your contribution on the
my place…
webpage. You can choose to use your name, initials or nickname once
the memory is placed on the webpage. Your contact details will not
be placed on the web but we would like this information in case we
need to contact you about your contribution.
You are able to view the information you give us
at any time, by applying to the Bega Valley Shire Council.
Information can be altered but only with your approval. Please refer
to the Bega Valley Shire Council’s Policy on Information Access.
Conditions of use

will be in the public domain.
All memories and stories must be the
original work of the contributor.
Photographs may be included and, where
possible, the creator of the photograph will be asked for
permission, before the photo is included on the webpage.
Contributions and photographs may be
edited as necessary.
Contributions and photographs may be
rejected due to copyright infringement, defamation,
offensiveness, works of a commercial nature or due to other
legal considerations.
The contributor holds the copyright to
their material but Bega Valley Shire Library has the right to
permanently:

hold the material in its collection and/or
display it online.

allow the material to be used for the
purposes of education, information, entertainment and
general interest.

use this material for exhibitions,
broadcasts, presentations, in publications and online
including successor technologies.
