Ancestry Library edition

This popular resource is available at any of our libraries. It provides instant access to a wide range of unique resources for genealogical and historical research.  They have more than 1.5 billion names in over 4,000 databases, including records from the United States Census; records from the British census, military records; court, land and probate records; vital and church records; directories; passenger lists and more!

Some Australian records are also included.  As an example, you can search the Australian electoral roll from 1901 to 1936 or search the NSW 1828 Census or convict lists.  Importantly, Ancestry Library Edition is an international database so no matter where your ancestors came from, there is likely to be a database for you.

All libraries hold a Local History Collection, which is reference only. The main collection is held at the Bega Library with branch libraries having items specific to their area only.  Materials collected relate to all past, current and future aspects of the Bega Valley Shire and the South East Coast region. Contributions to the information on this website are welcome.
