Encyclopedia Britannica Online

Members of the Bega Valley Shire Library can now access Encyclopedia Britannica Online from home or any Internet computer by following a few simple steps.

Britannica Online is a particularly useful resource for students doing homework or working on school projects.

Members of the library service can access Britannica Online by:

Clicking on this link which opens the Library Catalogue in the Members Services area

you will then need to enter your library card number and password, so have your card handy

Click on ‘Databases’ which will be on the menu on left hand side

Choose the link to Britannica Online.

As well as the full Encyclopedia Britannica database, members can also access the Britannica Student Encyclopedia, Britannica Elementary Encyclopedia.  Members can also get access to the over 250,000 Internet sites, which have been reviewed and recommended by Britannica education editors.  Access to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary and Thesaurus is also included.
