CommunityCompanion Animals

leash free and wildlife protection areas

Council is required to implement the Companion Animals legislation in this Shire.  This legislation was introduced by the NSW Government in 1998 to protect pets, their owners and the broader community.

For more information about the legislation refer to the Department of Local Government website.

These two simple steps will ensure the Rangers return your pet to you if it is lost, hurt or stolen.

  • The Companion Animal register allows owners to be contacted if their pets go missing.

  • By registering and micro chipping your animal you can ensure they get home safe and sound.

Registration is simple and registration forms can be obtained from any Council Office.  For further information about companion animal registration click here.
