Changes of address
May 13, 2008: Owners of investment properties in the Bega
Valley Shire are being asked to check that Council has their correct
mailing address before the rates notices are sent out in July.
"Each year we find that many rates notices are returned or lost
because people have changed their mailing address, particularly for
owners of investment properties," a spokesperson for Council’s rates
staff said this week.
"This can result in those ratepayers incurring late charges
because they fail to pay their rates on time."
The spokesperson said there was a Change of Address form
available on Council’s website,
www.begavalley.nsw.gov.au
which must be completed, signed and returned with the new details.
Changes of address that involved other people, such as a son or
daughter taking control of a parent’s business affairs, required the
signature of the ratepayer on the Change of Address form.
Go to
www.begavalley.nsw.gov.au and click on Application Forms. The
Change of Address form is under ‘rates information’.
