film nights: following on from the Gallery’s regular first Thursday of the month late opening, this popular evening of wine, nibbles and cinema.

Wine and nibbles from 6pm - film screening @ 7pm - $10 donation ($8 friends of gallery)

Thursday, November 5 : Interview (M)

Interview is a remake of Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh's 2003 movie of the same title. A fading political journalist is infuriated by his editor's decision to hogtie him to a tabloid-level story about a paparazzi goddess. The interview is more of a disaster than either could have predicted. As the interview continues, dark secrets and long-hidden vulnerabilities emerge. This is an intriguing tale of deception and one up man ship.

Thursday, December 3 : Delicatessen (French subtitles) (M)

Delicatessen is a wonderfully zany black fantasy comedy with touches of science fiction and romance. It's a grim sort of fairy tale, set in a world which no longer supports plants or animals. With natural food in short supply, the residents of an apartment block have to improvise. The landlord is a delicatessen butcher who provides the questionable goods. However, it is the love story that drives the film's black heart.
