Draft Master Plans for Bruce Steer Pool, Short Point and the Pambula Surf Club precinct are on public exhibition for comment and feedback until August 21.

Bega Valley Shire Council’s Leisure and Recreation Coordinator, Justin Welsford, said Council hopes the broader community will take the time to look over the plans and to express their opinions.

“Providing opportunity for strong stakeholder engagement has been a real focus for both Council and the consultants, Spiire, throughout the master planning process,” he said.

“After the public surveys, key stakeholder meetings and well attended community workshops, we are very keen to keep the momentum going.

“The master plans will establish how the sites should look and function in the future through providing a clear framework and direction for staged ongoing improvements.

“As these are public assets we see constructive community feedback as a vital aspect in the sites being able to best meet community needs and expectations.

“There are some exciting elements proposed in the draft plans with accessibility and functionality key focusses, among various other elements at each site. An all-abilities access into the water at Bruce Steer Pool, substantial revegetation work at Short Point and a major reconfiguration of the Pambula site have been proposed,”  Mr Welsford said.

The draft plans can be viewed and feedback submitted by visiting the Have Your Say page on Council’s website.

For further information contact Justin Welsford on 6499 2155.
