Our mission is to support and encourage the practice of woodcraft througout the Bega Valley Shire by engaging with the community through educational, charitable and mutually beneficial activities. The Woodies conduct a General Meeting for all members and visitors every month on the fourth Monday of that month at 10.00am.
The aim of the Bega Woodies is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information on woodcrafts that assist our members improve their skills through the provision of facilities and expertise that enable our members and community partners to create practical and artistic objects that fulfil their needs.
The Woodies maintain a fully equipped workshop where members enjoy learning and practising their woodcraft skills using both powered and unpowered tools. We often undertake projects for community groups and private individuals ranging from childrens toys to indoor and outdoor furniture as well as repairing precious heirloom furniture. All members attend these projects on a vulunteer basis. Our workshop is open on the following days:
1st and 3rd Monday of each month 09:00 - 15:00 approx and 2nd Saturday of each month 09:00 - 15:00 - Woodturning,
each Wednesday 09:00 to 15:00 (approx) General woodworking.
Members can also arrange to use the workshop on other days as long as they abide by our strict policies on the use of our facilities.
Eligibility Criteria
Junior membership 12 - 18 (must be accompanied by a responsible adult member) Ordinary membership anyone 18 and over subject to committee approval.
