Bega Valley Shire Council has outlined draft fees and charges for the new Commemorative Civic Centre which offer a reduced rate for community and non-profit groups.
The draft fees and charges were agreed at Wednesday’s Council meeting and will now be placed public exhibition for 28 days for comment.
Council’s Group Manager Community, Relations & Leisure, Anthony Basford, said the fees and charges collected for use of the Centre will, in part, go towards the operations and maintenance of the Centre.
“Currently, the community and non-profit bookings are approximately 40 per cent cheaper than full booking rates,” he said.
“When it opens, the Civic Centre will be a facility for the whole Shire that has the capacity to attract a range of local, regional, interstate and international acts as well as community uses, including conferences, graduations, civic events and Council meetings.”
When adopted, the new fees and charges will be in place until 30 June 2016. There will be an opportunity to review and assess them for the following financial year.
