Services for seniors

Can’t read the fine print?

The library holds many titles in large print and as audiobooks. Audiobooks are available in a range of formats – cassette, CD, MP3-CD and eAudiobooks (http://senswelibrary.lib.overdrive.com). The text can also be enlarged when you use an eBook reader, the library has free eBooks available for download.

Home Library Service

A free Home Library Service is available to Bega Valley Shire residents who are unable to visit the library due to age, illness or disability. The service is supported by the contribution of volunteer workers. Please note that there may be a waiting list depending on the availability of suitable volunteers. Contact Bega Library on 6499 2127.

To be eligible for this service, endorsement is required from a medical professional to certify that you are housebound and unable to visit the library. Following an assessment visit from the Home Library Service Coordinator, items are delivered every three weeks by volunteer drivers to your home or aged care facility. Previously borrowed items will be collected and returned to the library, and all volunteers are identified by their Bega Valley Shire library volunteer badge.
