The proposal seeks to be approved in stages, with an overall development comprising;
The staging would comprise:
Stage 1 - Construction of the proposed main building, workshops, two squadron compounds, two sets of hangars, road and bridge;
Stage 2 to 9 - The balance of construction works that would be completed over a four year period;
Stages 2 and 5 would include the upgrade of the intersection.
Hours of operation would be operational during daylight hours only. For aircraft safety it is prohibited to operate outside of such hours.
The students would be in residency for a period of 12 weeks, 24 hours per day.
The proposed development once fully operational would accommodate 360 students and employ 201 FTE staff members which would include flight instructors, aviation English instructors, flight theory instructors, squadron leaders and assistants, chefs, maintenance and administration support.
