Bega Valley Shire Council has closed access to the Tathra and Merimbula wharves due to a dangerous surf forecast.
Council has closed the wharves based on a Bureau of Metrology (BOM) forecast for powerful surf conditions sent via Surf Lifesaving NSW’s Dangerous Surf Advisory.
The wharves are anticipated to be closed until Friday morning. Barricades will be put in place to restrict access.
During powerful surf conditions recreational activities along the coastline may be dangerous and Council advises residents and visitors to monitor BOM warnings and take care whilst this forecast remains current.
Please note this closure doesn’t affect businesses located at the wharves.
