Two mature eucalyptus trees will be removed from Merimbula airport carpark next week. These are the same trees that were identified for removal in mid-March but were not cut down because of scheduling issues.
The trees present a risk to users of the carpark and a number of vehicles have been damaged by falling branches.
In order to safely remove the trees, power to the airport may be affected. Council is working with airport authorities to ensure that power interruptions will have minimal impact on the operation of Merimbula Airport.
The trees will be removed by a licenced arborist.
