Improvement works at Pambula Rivermouth Park are scheduled to start next week.
Works will include a new amenities building, a ramp for improved beach access, improvements to better control stormwater flows plus installation of an additional path, park furniture and some landscaping.
The existing amenities building will be demolished and removed after the new facilities are commissioned.
Council’s Manager of Leisure and Recreation Services, John Grady, said the work is programmed to have limited impact on general use during the coming school holidays and October long-weekend.
The works are scheduled to be complete by early December 2015.
