Bega Valley Shire Council is working on master plans to guide the future use and development of two regionally significant sportsgrounds in Pambula and Bega.
The master plans for the Pambula Sports Complex and Bega Recreation Ground will be designed to fit the current and identified future needs of the community through consultation with user groups, the community and other key stakeholders.
Leisure and Recreational Services Manager, John Grady, said the master plans for the two sportsgrounds are being run concurrently so their uses can be defined to ensure they complement each other, rather than potentially duplicate each other.
“Specialist recreation planners ROSS Planning are developing the studies on behalf of Council and are currently researching the project,” he said.
“This work will lead to detailed site inspections and consultation with people and groups who use the sportsgrounds.
“The master plans will be community documents that are informed through public participation, and we will soon announce details of community meetings coming up in late June and July this year.
“We’re encouraging everyone with an interest in the Bega and Pambula sportsgrounds to attend these meetings and help us to deliver the best master plans possible for each site,” Mr Grady said.
There will also be opportunities for people to provide feedback on the master plans on Council’s website once the draft master plans are exhibited in the coming months.
