A recent review of the Festivals and Events Grants process determined that grants will now be available once per calendar year, subject to available funds. This decision aims to provide a fair and equitable process across all events in the Shire and will offer different categories of funding based on the merits and eligibility criteria of each applicant.

Applications will be assessed by an internal working committee with recommendations being presented to Council for approval and resolution.

Timelines

  • Applications open, Monday 11 September 2017
  • Applications close, Friday 6 October 2017
  • Assessment and review, October 2017
  • Report to Council for resolution, November 2017
  • Applicant notification, November/ December 2017

These timelines may alter slightly in future years, with notice.

Early planning is important to the success of your festival or event. In order for Council to provide a smooth application process and to avoid disappointment, please allow a minimum of 6 months for any additional approvals required. For example; Use of Public Land, Development Application, Traffic Control Management Plan and Road Closure.

Funding

Council has a limited budget of $45,000 to allocate towards Festivals and Events. As a result not all applications are guaranteed to receive funding. 

Allocation of funds for the remainder of 2017 has already been exhausted. The next round of funding will commence from January 2018.
