The Draft Master Plans for Bega Sporting Complex (including Valley Fields) and Pambula Sporting Complex will be on public display from Wednesday 2 December for comment and feedback after being endorsed for exhibition at last Wednesday’s Council meeting.
Bega Valley Shire Council’s Leisure and Recreation Coordinator, Justin Welsford, said Council is extremely hopeful that the sportsground committees, sporting clubs and the broader community will take the time to look over the plans and take the opportunity to express their opinions.
“Providing opportunity for strong stakeholder engagement has been a real focus for both Council and the consultants Ross Planning throughout the Master Planning process,” he said.
“Following on from the public surveys, user group meetings and well attended community workshops, we are very keen to keep the momentum going.
“The Master Plans will establish how the sites should look and function into the future through providing a clear framework and direction for staged ongoing improvements.
“Being public assets we see constructive community feedback as a vital aspect the sites being able to best meet community needs and expectations.
“There are some exciting elements proposed in the draft plans. Amongst other items at Bega these include an expanded indoor centre complete with seating and viewing areas, change rooms, and kiosks that can service both fields; while at Pambula the draft plan proposes the development of the southern area of the site to formalise the equestrian space to include stables as well as establishing two playing fields and a new pavilion building to service this area,” Mr Welsford said.
Ross Planning will host public workshops to talk about the draft plans and answer questions. The details for these are:
