'Murunna Point Revisited' - book launch at Bermagui Library
Local author, essayist and critic, Ian McFarlane will release his latest collection of essays, stories and poems, 'Murunna Point Revisited' at Bermagui Library on Saturday, 8 April at 10am.

Local author, essayist and critic, Ian McFarlane will release his latest collection of essays, stories and poems, ‘Murunna Point Revisited’ at Bermagui Library on Saturday, 8 April at 10am.
A Beauty Point resident for many years, Ian has a passion for social justice and a life-long love of books and writing.
‘Murunna Point Revisited’ explores diverse social and cultural themes in stylish and accessible language, as well as offering a unique insight into the largely invisible but cruel condition of clinical depression and anxiety disorder.
“The book features essays, stories and poems about many subjects, particularly the role of literature in helping to engage empathy and the imagination in search of a better human community.” Mr McFarlane said.
Ian has had three mainstream novels published; The Jerusalem Conspiracy (1984), The Siberian Sparrows (1990) and Shadows (1991), the latter two gaining him Weekend Australian Best-Read Awards.
He has also worked as a professional book reviewer for thirty years; regularly writing for The Canberra Times and occasionally for The Australian.
‘Murunna Point Revisited’ is a revised and expanded version of ‘Evening at Murunna Point’ which was first published in 2001, and will be launched by local poet and GP, Dr Tim Metcalf.
The community is invited to attend at 10am on Saturday, 8 April, bookings are advisable. Phone Bermagui library on 6499 2411 or book online.
Signed copies will be available for $25 at the book launch. An e-book version is also available from Amazon and similar outlets. Copies of ‘Murunna Point Revisited’ can also be ordered online or by mail at PO Box 3461 Port Adelaide SA 5015 for $27.50, plus postage.
