Teaching skate 'awesomness'

Bega Valley Shire Council is set to celebrate the 'awesomeness' of skateboarding and local young people during Youth Week this April.

Bega Valley Shire Council is set to celebrate the ‘awesomeness’ of skateboarding and local young people during Youth Week this April.

Council is combining with skating educators, Ownlife to run a bunch of ‘All Aboard Skateboard’ sessions at Bermagui, Bega, Tathra, Pambula and Eden.

The primary focus of these FREE workshops is to introduce local girls and boys to skateboarding in a safe and supportive environment.

The sessions emphasise participation and inclusion, anyone and everyone is invited to take part and will be set up to succeed with all equipment provided.

Ownlife, skateboarding teachers Richard Flude and Rachel Delphin will get peoples blood pumping on the day as they help young people aged 12 to 25 make the most of local skate parks.

The ‘All Aboard Skateboard’ sessions run:

  • Monday 17 April, 3pm - 5.30pm at Bermagui Skate Park off Lamont Street
  • Tuesday, 18 April, 10.30am - 1pm at Bega Skate Park off Carp Street
  • Tuesday, 18 April, 3.30pm - 5.30pm at Tathra Skate Park on Andy Poole Drive
  • Wednesday, 19 April, 10.30am – 3pm at Pambula Skate Park on Pambula Beach Road
  • Thursday, 20 April, 10.30am - 1pm at Eden Skate Park on Barclay Street

Get some friends together and register on the day.
