Fallen Trees & Vegetation

I have a lot of fallen vegetation in and around my property, can Council assist in the removal of these?

Fire damaged trees on private land will be placed on register and a contractor will be tasked as soon as possible. Our first priority is fire damaged trees that may be impacting dwellings or are dangerous.

For trailer loads of fire damaged shrubs etc; they can be taken to Wallagoot Transfer Station for no fee. Wallagoot Transfer Station is operating 7 days per week 7:30am – 4:30pm until 8th April, this is a free service for Tathra residents.

Are there fees or application forms involved in the application for trees and vegetation removal?

No application form or fees are required for the assessment of fire damaged trees and vegetation by our contractor.

Please register fire damaged trees with Council’s Customer Contact Centre and a contractor will be tasked as soon as possible.

Note that, although the assessment of trees will be performed by a contractor free of charge, at this stage the removal costs for trees on private property are the responsibility of the property owner.

Can I place burnt vegetation in my green organics bin?

Yes – general garden organics waste that has been fire affected (eg burnt shrubs etc) can be placed in your green bin. Please do not place tree stumps or branches thicker than 35mm in diameter into the bin.

For trailer loads of fire damaged shrubs etc; they can be taken to Wallagoot Transfer Station for no fee.

Please do not put your green waste out loose on the kerb, it will not be collected.
