Swimming Pool Compliance

This certificate is required when buy, selling or leasing a property that has a swimming pool or spa, apply online.


Drowning is a leading cause of preventable death in children under 5 years of age. A number of new laws are in place to improve the safety of children around swimming pools in NSW.

These laws include:

  1. swimming pool owners are required to register their swimming pool; and
  2. have a valid compliance certificate or final occupation certificate or non-compliance certificate before selling or leasing a property with a pool or spa, from April 2016.

How to apply for a Certificate of Compliance

 

Please note:

  • Bega Valley Shire Council does not conduct inspections on weekends or public holidays
  • inspections require 48 hours’ notice
  • for inspections that are commercial in nature such as Strata Managed Pools, Commercial or Public Pools please call 02 6499 2222
