Bega Valley Shire Council is trialling extended opening hours at the Bermagui Library, commencing Monday 17 October.

Extended opening hours will be trialled during Daylight Saving to give library members more flexibility and opportunity to use the library in the afternoons and participate in programs and events during the week.

Bega Valley Shire Council’s Manager Community, Culture and Information, Simon Schweitzer said the longer hours, from 9.30am to 5.00pm, would be a trial only and any decision about whether to continue the extended hours would depend on the public demand.

“We’re hoping for a positive community response to the new hours,” he said.

“Whether or not we continue to open Bermagui Library at these hours on Monday, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays will depend on the numbers of people who use the library.

“Saturday opening hours will remain the same – from 9.00am to 12.00pm.”
