Club Grants support local community projects

Over 80 people attended the Bega Valley Club Grants presentation earlier this week, where over $98,000 was allocated to a broad range of community projects.

Over 80 people attended the Bega Valley Club Grants presentation earlier this week, where over $98,000 was allocated to a broad range of community projects.

The chairperson of the Bega Valley Club Grants Committee, Michael Mutsch, said the funding of 37 projects would benefit a range of local community activities consolidating the programs exceptional history.

Some of the 2016 projects funded include:

  • Recreational space for residents of Nardy House, a purpose built independent disability housing service at Quaama.
  • Continued support for St Vincent De Paul’s Christmas hampers for disadvantaged residents across the Shire.
  • Shade sails for Wyndham Primary School
  • Eden Fire Rural Service and Quaama Rural Fire Service for improved communication equipment
  • Marine Rescue NSW - Merimbula Unit, to extend their pontoon to better accommodate a new rescue boat and improve response times.

Across the last 13 years Bega Valley Club Grants have contributed close to $1.2 million to local community.
