Bega Valley Shire Council has released its End of Term Report, reflecting on the life and work of Council between September 2012 and July 2016.
The report outlines Council’s progress implementing its Community Strategic Plan, Bega Valley 2030, and is a requirement under the Local Government Act.
The 124 page document summarises the last term of Council as residents prepare to elect a new Council on September 10.
Acting General Manager Anthony Basford is encouraging the community to have a look.
“You get a full sense of the size and scope of Council’s work,” he says.
“There is much for our community to be proud of, with Councillors, staff and residents coming together to achieve some significant goals over the last four years.”
The End of Term Report lists the key infrastructure, environmental, financial and workforce conditions of the time, along with the initiatives and projects achieved, and the issues that emerged and were addressed or influenced by Council.
A snap shot from the End of Term Report:
“From my perspective, as Acting General Manager, I am very proud of the role Council staff have played over the last four years,” Mr Basford said.
“Our team has been instrumental in strengthening the community, building prosperity and protecting the environment.”
The full report is available on www.begavalley.nsw.gov.au Hard copies are also available at the Shire’s libraries and Council’s administration centre in Bega.
