Bega Valley Shire Council advises works will commence on Monday 23 October to complete the final retaining wall structure within the road closure area of Big Jack Mountain Road.
This is the final stage of what has been multiple restoration works to stabilise embankments and undertake repair of road infrastructure damaged due to multiple flood events.
Completion of this project will enable the road to be reopened to the public by mid-December 2023, weather permitting.
John Michelins & Sons will be conducting works on behalf of Council from Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm.
During this time, Big Jack Mountain Road will remain under full road closure.
We thank the local community for their ongoing patience.
Assistance is being provided through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
