Recreation Strategy
This project aims to source information from the community regarding the future asset mix and strategy to guide investment and development in the Parks and Recreation Asset mix.
Project background
Council is developing a coordinated and prioritised strategy for the management, renewal and design of recreation assets across the shire. The strategy will cover sporting facilities, playgrounds and skate parks, parkland reserves, natural reserves, aquatic facilities, and marine recreation facilities.
Purpose
This project will allow Council to develop a strategy that will guide future investment in our parks and recreation assets to ensure that it meets the needs of our community. Over time the sports which our community are engaging in are changing and we need to ensure that we maintain the older assets that are still required and also develop new assets where needed. By developing this strategy, we will streamline the approval process and ensure that the community gets the best outcome considering the limited pool of resources available to supply these assets.
