Berrambool Sportsground Floodlight Upgrade

Upgrade the floodlights at Berrambool's AFL/Cricket oval to meet semi-professional lighting levels.

Project Summary/background

AFL NSW/ACT were successful in securing a grant from the NSW Government to upgrade floodlights for the AFL/Cricket field at Berrambool Oval.

Bega Valley Shire Council assisted AFL NSW/ACT with this submission and since the floodlights are a council asset, Council assisted with the delivery of the project.

Purpose

The works included:

  • Installation of 4 x 30-metre light poles with seven led light fittings mounted to each pole
  • Increase lighting level to the maximum capacity of 200 lux
  • Footing pads to mount the towers
  • Upgraded electrical infrastructure including a new electrical main switchboard and upgraded power to service the needs for the entire Berrambool sportsground

The project has enabled the ground to be used more effectively throughout the football season for training and competition games.

Funding

Grant funding received from the NSW Government with contributions and support by Merimbula diggers AFL Club, AFL NSW/ACT and Bega Valley Shire Council.
