Overview

Quarantine Bay is a well-loved recreational area just south of Eden, popular with locals and visitors alike. It’s recognised as a key investment location under the Transport for NSW Maritime Infrastructure Plan and has been identified as a priority for funding.

The site’s amenities are aging and do not meet modern accessibility standards. This project will deliver a significant upgrade to the area, improving access, safety and usability for a wide range of community groups.

The upgrade will include:

  • Replacement and relocation of existing amenities
  • Accessible pathways throughout the site
  • Improved access to the new fishing platform
  • Concrete repair works to surrounding infrastructure.

This project is jointly funded by a $527,000 grant through the NSW Boating Infrastructure for Communities program and a contribution from Bega Valley Shire Council.

Why is Quarantine Bay being upgraded?

The current amenities at Quarantine Bay do not meet modern accessibility standards. This upgrade will improve the site for all users, making it safer, more inclusive, and better connected to existing boating infrastructure.

  • Twofold Bay Yacht Club

  • Visitors and tourists

There is strong interest from local boating clubs to expand their membership and host more events and competitions once the upgrade is complete.

There may be temporary closures or restricted access during construction to ensure public safety. We’ll provide updates on timing and access changes as the project progresses.
