Learn about the Return and Earn program and collection basket trial.
Bega Valley Shire Council is trialling 50 Return and Earn wire baskets that will be attached to selected public bins in busy areas across the shire.
Starting Monday 3 November, the six-month trial aims to reduce litter, keep waste out of local landfill and encourage more recycling across the community.
The baskets are attached to public bins, making it easier for people to dispose of their eligible bottles, cans and cartons responsibly. Others are then free to collect them for the 10c refund through Return and Earn.
These baskets are a simple reminder to recycle when you’re out and about — helping keep our streets, parks and beaches clean.
