Bega Valley Shire Awards Committee

The Bega Valley Shire Awards Committee considers nominations and determines recipients for Council’s annual civic awards, which recognise individuals who make an outstanding contribution to the Bega Valley community.

The Awards Committee has been established as a Committee of the Whole, meaning all Councillors are members and make decisions collectively on award recipients. Council staff provide administrative and governance support to assist with the coordination of the awards program.

Awards considered each year may include, but are not limited to:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Senior Citizen of the Year
  • Bega Valley Medallion.

Committee meetings are held after the close of award nominations to review submissions and determine recipients in accordance with the Bega Valley Shire Awards Committee Terms of Reference.
