Bega Valley Shire Council is inviting architects and designers to take part in the next stage of the Bega War Memorial Pool redevelopment project.

Following an invitation from the Australian Government, Council recently submitted a formal application for funding through the Major and Local Community Infrastructure Program.

“We are now seeking qualified architects and facility designers to review and help shape the future Bega pool redevelopment with consideration of Council’s endorsed concept design,” Aquatic and Leisure Facilities Coordinator, Nicholas Hoynes said.

“This project will redevelop the facility to include a 10-lane 25m pool, warm water program pool, wading pool with water play features, accessible facilities and environmentally sustainable design.

“It will deliver a modern, accessible and fit-for-purpose aquatic facility that supports sport, exercise, rehabilitation, recreation and water safety education.

“We’re excited to see this vital project moving ahead, supported by much-needed Federal Government funding.

“The upgraded pool will give our community a central place to stay active, connect and support both health and social well-being.”

The tender is open and closes on Friday 20 February 2026. For more information and to apply, visit the Vendor Panel website.

Council will update the community as the project progresses.
