Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme
The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme is a place where new friendships are formed. Volunteering for this scheme is a great way to form new friendships and support our communities ageing and lonely while bringing purpose and meaning to each volunteer, along with the joy that friendships bring to our lives.
The ACVVS is a free service available for aged care residential or Home Care Package recipients that aims to:
- provide friendship and companionship to older people
- help develop social connections
Intended participants
Visits are available to anyone who receives government-subsidised residential aged care or Home Care Packages, including care recipients approved or on the National Priority System for residential and Home Care Packages (HCP).
It is funded by the Federal Government.
