The Bega Valley Arts and Crafts Society is a body created for and run by visual arts practitioners based in the Bega Valley Shire.
The BVACS was founded in 1946 and was the first arts society to be established in NSW outside of Sydney.
Current members meet on Monday mornings in Bega to support and encourage each other in their arts practice. The "Monday Art Group" also hold an annual art exhibition to promote and sell their artworks.
Weekly workshops take place from 9am to 12pm in the Seventh Day Adventist hall at 31 Upper Street Bega. Any interested local visual artists are welcome to bring their current project and art materials and come along on Mondays to join in. Contact Lorna Klapka on 0419 209 217 for more information.
BVACS also acts as an umbrella group for unincorporated arts groups, artists and performers to enable them to apply for funding to grow or support their organisation or projects. For more information about this contact the Secretary Rachel Annabel by email on bvacs@gmail.com
