Our Society is a volunteer organisation established in 1987 and incorporated in 1988. Its purpose is to collect, preserve, archive and maintain its many collections - assets for the benefit of future generations as the dedicated team of volunteers build on the work of the Society's founding forbears. Our collection includes Significance Assessment archives of local, State and National significance such as: Kameruka Estate and Ayrdale. Records of where people lived, worked and their occupations. We pride ourselves of having the biggest library of local family and social history books.
The Society occupies an important heritage building - the Old Pambula Courthouse and Police Station c1862. The Courthouse also houses an important collection of photos, images and objects to do with policing and is open to the public.
