Fortem is an independent not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of emergency services workers and their families in the Bega Valley and across Australia.
Working in emergency services can be incredibly rewarding but it can also be confronting, traumatic and dangerous. Fortem focuses on early intervention, providing social connection activities, psychology and counselling, mental health literacy resources and a career management program to influence help seeking behaviours and promote resilience, recovery, and overall wellbeing.
Eligible services include NSW Ambulance, Fire and Rescue, Marine Rescue, Rural Fire Service, State Emergency Service, Volunteer Rescue Association and Police.
